Beth Joseph Synagogue Beth Joseph is the oldest Synagogue in the Adirondacks, and one of few synagogues outside of New York City listed in the register of New York State Historic Buildings. Built in 1905, the origins of Beth Joseph Synagogue stem from the late 1800's, when Jewish immigrants from Russia and eastern Europe arrived in America. The earliest Jewish settlers in the Adirondacks came first as peddlers. Beth Joseph was the focal point of Tupper Lake's Jewish community. |
